In 2002 Sativa Records was born and was formed by four UK artists: YT, Innerheart, Nat Clarxon [NJC], and Digital. Sativa have gone on to become one of the UK’s biggest urban labels with a well respected Artist roster and a number of successful releases. The main focus was on YT in 2006, which saw him perform a live set with the Innerheart Band at BBC’s Maidavale studios on Ras Kwame’s One Music show. In the same year Sativa released YT’s highly acclaimed debut album ‘Straight Outta Britain’.

The label releases music from many genres including: Reggae/Dancehall, DnB, Hip-Hop and Breaks with more and more styles in different avenues of modern music being added as the label grows.
SATIVA IN THE MEDIA:
The label has had a number of big releases seeing YT at number one in the UK reggae charts. All the releases to date have been given 5/5’s or 10/10 status in many magazine reviews and receiving Radio plays on all of the UK’s finest Stations: Radio 1, 1Xtra, Choice FM, KISS FM, Galaxy FM to name a few.
David Rodigan (Kiss & The Godfather of Reggae) has personally endorsed the label and artist YT.
YT’s album STRAIGHT OUTTA BRITAIN was nominated for a ‘UMA’ (URBAN MUSIC AWARD) for ‘Best Album 2006’, up against: Lilly Allen, Lemar, Correan Bailey Rae & Alesha Dixon.
In the same UMA awards YT won ‘BEST REGGAE ACT’ 2006.
With yet more albums dropping in 2007 this label is set to continue to develop even further and become a household name for breaking proper talent in the UK and beyond.
