Wearhouse Music, fronted by man of the moment, Lee Mortimer, and 'Slide' commander-in-chief, Matt Braddock, launches in the summer of 2006. With an extensive catalogue of unreleased tracks, Wearhouse Music aims to serve up a combination of Lees forward-thinking tunes and productions from up-and-coming artists. Lee has been making a name for himself by supplying slick, funked-up jackin house to some of the leading house labels around, including Front Room, Carioca, .dotbleep and Greenhouse Records. With support of Lee's releases coming from the likes of Derrick Carter, Paul Woolford, Nic Fanciulli, Jesse Rose, Yousef, DJ Heather, Bushwacka! and more, prospects look good. Kicking off proceedings is the 3-tracked 'Marinade EP'. With something for everyone, this debut release opens with Snake Pit, a quirky, bumpy beast with a horn section to die for. Barber Queue continues with a live, twanging bass, tight, skippy beats and all-important crowd hollers! Finishing off the package is The Grill, a heaving monster for the peak hours. Killer stabs, pulsating bass and all the right breakdowns. |
