Load Media was set up in association with Keynote Studios and are one of the leading distributors within drum and bass, and have broadened into house, dubstep, reggae, breaks and garage. The list includes some of the most respected labels and producers in the scene like Digital’s Function, Dylan’s Freak, Technical Itch’s Technical Itch, Brillo’s Timeless Recordings, Diesel Boy’s Human Imprint & System Recordings and Bailey’s Intasound to name a few.
The company was originally set up in 2003 by Noel Newton. Load are based in Reading and they boast fully experienced staff members: Chris A&R, Darren (also assistant manager) and Johnny on Sales and Leon in Dispatch. The Load team all have their own things going on. At Load, all of the staff are involved in the music scene, Noel owns Keynote Recordings, Darren DJ’s under the name ‘Deadly P’, he hosts the Load Media show on Jungletrain.net every Friday 5-7pm GMT, he also owns Deadly Records, Johnny DJ’s under the name ‘DJ THC’ and owns Dubstep label 3.5 Recordings. Together we all run the Load imprint which is a label that we set up to break new artists that are coming through Load
Keynote Studio’s has just been refurbished, with several large recording areas, 48 channel TLAudio desk, along with a host of other hardware and software, with extensive microphone selection for live recording. Engineers that use the studio include Jim Warren who is front of house engineer for Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Duran Duran among others. He also helped produce local band Whispering Knees. Don Chandler who is the studio Manager who has just finished touring with Craig David. Keynote also offers music production courses that are tailored to your needs.
